Lotus has bolstered its Elise line-up in Australia with the local launch of an updated S flagship, which sprints to 100km/h in a Porsche 911-rivalling 4.6sec, while returning a miserly overall consumption figure of 7.5L/100km.Priced from $79,990 excluding statutory charges, delivery and dealer costs, the blown Elise S supplements the existing entry-level Elise ($67,990) and the limited-edition Elise Club Racer ($68,990).

Fitted with a new supercharged 1.8-litre engine that pumps out 163kW at 6800rpm and 250Nm at 4600rpm, the 2012 Elise S dishes up 40Nm more twist than its predecessor and, what’s more, the torque curve is also claimed to be flatter than before.Lotus claims the new supercharger incorporates the latest technology, including the Eaton TVS Twin Vortices Series that reduces noise, vibration and harshness compared to other types of blowers.

Additional gains are made via an air-to-water intercooler that pumps denser air into the engine, thereby boosting its volumetric efficiency. Packaging efficiencies are also optimised as the intake manifold, intercooler and supercharger all integrated into a single lightweight casing.Another new addition is an oil cooler that extends engine life, reduces the heat load on the engine and radiator, increases the oil capacity and reduces under-bonnet temperatures.

Further enhancing the driveability of the Lotus Elise S is a revised gearbox with new first and second gears that enable 100km/h to be reached without a dogleg shift into third gear and a taller sixth gear for relaxed and economical cruising. The Elise S also ushers in an upgraded chassis electronics package with mods to the Lotus Dynamic Performance Management system (DPM) that are claimed to make it less intrusive than before. And look for the internal feature of this car, an awesome car entertainment system that you can enjoy it while driving. You can include also some safety features that includes into the car gadgets like the portable GPS navigation that inputs into some car gadgets inside.

Toyota Prius V which is the world’s first full-hybrid seven-seater will arrive in local showrooms towards the end of May. So ecited to look in the showroom this new member of Toyota Prius family. Toyota’s new versatile Prius v will compete in multiple segments, bringing new buyers to the company’s expanding hybrid family when it arrives in Australia towards the end of May.

As the world’s first full-hybrid seven-seater, Prius v has a unique exterior design while sharing a family resemblance with the standard Prius flagship. Prius v is longer, taller and wider with more shoulder and hip room as well as offering seven seats in a two-three-two configuration.

Measuring up to its versatility tag, each of the three second-row seats in Prius v can slide independently into the most convenient position and the seat-backs can be folded forward separately. The two seats in the third row can also be folded flat individually – or together to provide significantly more luggage-carrying capacity than Prius.

They placed a compact, high-density lithium-ion battery under the centre console between the driver and front passenger – rather than using the larger nickel-metal hydride battery in Prius. Prius v is the first Toyota production vehicle in Australia fitted with a lithium-ion battery pack.

Combined power from the 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and 60kW electric motor is 100kW – identical to the Prius Hybrid Synergy Drive system. Fuel economy is expected to be better than most SUVs, wagons and cross-over vehicles on the market. Toyota Australia’s executive director Matthew Callachor said Prius v was designed for buyers of small and mid-size vehicles who value space and fuel-efficiency equally.

Toyota Prius V is a premium SUV that suits for family outing and advanetures and friends. Another competetive sedan unveil by Ford incorporated. Ford has turned the Fusion into a Chevrolet Volt fighter, as if squaring off against the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord and the Hyundai Sonata isn't enough. The Fusion is being revealed on Monday at the Detroit auto show and hits the market in the middle of this year. The latest edition of the sedan is an ambitious project, and Ford is aiming to capture a wide array of consumers with a broad range of engine selections, including two EcoBoost four-cylinders. The 1.6-liter is projected to make 179 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque, and the 2.0-liter is expected to make 237 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque.

The conventional hybrid also returns, and mileage is improved to 47 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway. Ford has sold Fusion hybrids for three years, and this next generation has improved regenerative braking, capturing up to 95 percent of the kinetic energy, more electric systems (in place of belt-driven), and the transmission and battery-cooling systems are developed in-house at Ford.

The plug-in model is called Energi, and it's different from the basic hybrid. The Energi's lithium-ion batteries allow for travel under all-electric power, though Ford wouldn't specify the distance. A gasoline engine extends range to at least 500 miles. It can stay all-electric up to about 62 mph. Though Ford called the Energi a "white space" vehicle and segment-creating, there's no mistaking that it's meant to compete directly with the Volt, the Nissan Leaf and cars that aren't even public knowledge yet.

A 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 170 hp and 170-lb-ft of torque rounds out the lineup. Six-speed automatic and manual transmissions are available, depending on the model. There is no V6 engine, which Marakby called "a strategic change." Additionally, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine will have stop/start technology. The internal-combustion variants will be the first Fusions off the line, with the hybrid and Energi models joining slightly later in 2012.

The surface changes also are significant. Like the Escape, which eschewed a proven, albeit conventional design for a complete makeover, the Fusion completely breaks from the established appearance of the 2012 model. The hood and fenders are creased, contoured and bulge in various places. The laser-cut headlights are wraparound and are enhanced with LED turn signals, and the taillights have their own unique graphic for nighttime conditions.

The car follows a path driven by Hyundai, which took a series of fluidic sculpture concepts and made them production reality in the Sonata. That turned heads and was the beginning of the Korean carmaker's design confidence. Ford hopes to do the same with the Fusion, which is launching into a segment that is generally staid. It's a calculated move, as the Fusion had its best sales year ever in 2011, and a major styling change could turn off some buyers.

Interestingly, the Fusion debuts a lightly updated Blue Oval that is pressed nearly flush into the front of the car for a premium feel. It's also outlined in metal and will be used on future Fords. The cabin also was redone, with fresh seats, more room and an electronic parking brake. The center console is slightly more open, and the instrument cluster updated.

Ford also loaded the Fusion with a range of electronic options, including lane-keeping assistance, parking assistance, a keyless entry system hidden in the B-pillar and adaptive cruise control. Sync will be standard, with a new version of MyFord Touch as an option. The sedan comes in front- and all-wheel drive versions and employs new MacPherson-front and multilink-rear suspensions. It also gets a new electric power-steering system.

When it comes to the inner system which highlight the car enetertainment system of the fusion, the car dvd player has already GPS feature that car aficionado will surely love it.
